Citizens, especially local farmers who are the target stakeholders, play a critical role in advocating and helping the project become more effective, and contributing innovative AI/ML driven crop yield prediction solutions and even to other complex agricultural development challenges in Tanzania and across Africa.
Stakeholder engagement will help the project team to proactively consider the needs and desires of farmers as well as foster connections, trust, confidence, and buy-in for the developed AI/ML driven crp yield prediction models. Stakeholder engagement will help to mitigate potential project risks and conflicts with farmers’ groups, including uncertainty, dissatisfaction of the developed agricultural solutions, misalignment, disengagement, and resistance to change.
